Music Our Mission at MSPC To proclaim & live the Good News of Jesus Christ by welcoming friend & stranger alike into our diverse & inclusive family of faith regardless of race or class or national origin or sexual orientation or worldly condition of any kind as we celebrate our gifts, work for justice & peace, reach out in mission & witness to God's transforming love MUSIC NOTES ¯ Ensembles Rehearse at Market Square Adult Choir rehearsals get under way on Thursday, September 9 at 7 p.m. in the ground floor music room. Alleluia Choir begins its season on Sunday, September 12 at 8:30 a.m. in the fourth level Alleluia Choir room. Market Square Ringers rehearse beginning on Wednesday, September 15 at 6 p.m. in the fourth level handbell room.September Music Highlights September 12 - “Genesis Sunday” features instrumental music by the Eaken Piano Trio and the return of the Adult Choir to worship leadership. September 19 – Adult Choir: Be Thou My Vision – Bob Chilcott Organ: Concerto after Vivaldi – Johann Gottfried Walter
September 27 – Piano: On Eagle’s Wings – Ann Krentz Organ Adult Choir: I Will Not Leave You Comfortless – Everett Titcomb Riley to perform in October Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra’s season-opening concert(s) features the much-loved Symphony No. 3 (“organ” symphony) by Camille Saint-Saens with Eric Riley at the organ console. Concerts are October 2 at 8 p.m. and October 3 at 3 p.m. at the Forum. Information available at www.harrisburgsymphony.org.Also in October, Eric will perform a solo organ concert as part of the dedication events for the expansion/re-building of the organ at Camp Hill United Methodist Church. Free concert is on Sunday, October 24 at 4 p.m. A reception follows the performance. www.camphillumc.org Market Square Concerts begins its season with a performance by TRIO SOLISTI at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 9 at the Whitaker Center. Later in the season, you will not want to miss the concert by the BACH CHOIR OF BETHLEHEM right here in our sanctuary at Market Square Church at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 19. Details at www.marketsquareconcerts.org. SO MANY PEOPLE TO THANK for the tremendous success of our musical event (June 3-5) with British composer/conductor, Bob Chilcott. Mr. Chilcott lead the combined choirs of Market Square and Pine Street Presbyterian Churches in rehearsals on Thursday and Friday nights, lead a workshop on Saturday morning and conducted a gala concert of his music on Saturday night featuring the choirs, brass ensemble, percussion, organ and piano.
